Basically, it's an Australian crime movie, but it's...different. The focal character is a 17-year old who moves in with his criminal relatives. I don't know -- I really enjoyed it, but it's as much a character study as it is a crime movie, so it's one of those films like Winter's Bone, where I end up chewing on it for hours after I finished watching. Winter's Bone really is the best comparison, for me, because both movies are about teens brushing up against adult life and gender roles and the wider corruption of the world.
Anyway, highly recommended by me, but only if you accept it's not, say Goodfellas. And I'll say it has the creepiest scene in the world set to Air Supply you'll ever see.
